Wooseok, a member of PENTAGON and now walking a new path as a solo artist, will release his first single album ‘Empty Paper’ on February 24th at 6 PM KST through various online music sites. This album, the first work presented by Wooseok after his transfer to a new agency, consists of two songs ‘Navy Blue’ and ‘Sketch’, which contain his own stories and emotions.
‘Navy Blue’, the title track of the album, is a song that expresses Wooseok’s youthful days as a conflict between longing and reality. In this song, Wooseok delivers a hopeful message, “Even though tomorrow, which cannot be predicted even a step ahead, is dark, like the blue dawn just before dawn breaks, I am always positive in any situation,” with his unique charm. Additionally, ‘Sketch’ maximizes the album title ‘Empty Paper’, containing the confusion and wandering of youth, as well as the anxiety and worries in the process of finding oneself.
Through this album, Wooseok not only showcased his aspects as a singer but also revealed his depth as an artist by actively participating in writing and composing. In particular, he enhanced the quality of the songs by collaborating with producers Siixk Jun and SWINGOOD to reinterpret the Grunge Rock sound, popular from the late 80s to the 90s, in a modern way. These producers have worked on hit songs for (G)I-DLE, PENTAGON, and have produced works recognized at the Korean Music Awards, raising expectations for Wooseok’s album.
Wooseok plans to present his new songs to fans for the first time through his first solo fan meeting ‘Bulmung: Fire Gazing’ held at Nodeul Island Live House in Seoul on the album’s release date, February 24th. Additionally, he plans to continue communicating with global fans by holding fan meetings and performances in Osaka and Tokyo in March.
‘Empty Paper’, marking Wooseok’s new beginning, gathers expectations for the growth he has experienced and the new picture he will draw in the future. Through this album, fans will be able to reaffirm the authenticity and depth of the artist Wooseok. Attention is focused on how Wooseok’s musical journey will unfold and what his next move will be.
