TXT has once again made a strong impression on the Japanese music market. According to the latest chart released by Oricon on November 4th, TXT’s mini 7th album ‘Chapter of the Star: SANCTUARY’ recorded a sales volume of 112,713 copies on its first day of release in Japan, climbing to the top of the ‘Daily Album Ranking’. This continues the record of all their albums reaching the top of the daily album rankings since the release of their mini 2nd album ‘Chapter of Dream: ETERNITY’ in May 2020 up to ‘minisode 3: TOMORROW’ in April this year.
An interesting point is that TXT’s new release recorded figures close to the 130,000 sales of the best-selling album in Japan last week on its first day alone. This has heightened expectations on whether they will break their existing record of 10 works achieving consecutive number ones in the ‘foreign artists’ album consecutive number one acquisition works’ category on the Oricon weekly album chart.
The title track ‘Over The Moon’ took second place in the ‘Daily Digital Single Ranking’, the highest position among K-pop artist songs that entered the rankings that day. It also ranked second on Japan’s iTunes ‘Top Songs’ chart, while the music video claimed third place in YouTube’s rapidly rising music category.
The new song ‘Over The Moon’ was also selected on Spotify’s November 4th chart in the ‘Daily Top Songs’ category in 11 countries/regions including Korea, Japan, and Singapore. TXT is set to start their official music broadcast activities on November 8th with KBS2’s ‘Music Bank’. There is much anticipation for what new records they will set in the future.
