The much-anticipated new Friday-Saturday drama from SBS, “The Fiery Priest 2,” showcased a more harmonious atmosphere through its official production presentation. Held on the afternoon of the 8th at the SBS headquarters in Mokdong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, the event was graced by the presence of director Park BoRam and actors Kim NamGil, Lee HaNee, Kim SungKyun, Sung Jun, Seo HyunWoo, and Kim HyeongSeo (BIBI), making the occasion even more special. The smooth proceedings were led by broadcaster Park KyungLim.
“The Fiery Priest 2” is a collaborative investigation drama featuring the hot-tempered priest Kim HaeIl (played by Kim NamGil), who struggles with anger management issues and works as both a priest by day and the boss of the ‘Bellato’ angel faction by night, as he takes on Korea’s largest drug cartel. The first season, aired in 2019, gained immense popularity, becoming the pioneer of SBS’s Friday-Saturday dramas and receiving tremendous love from fans.
Lee HaNee emphasized the passion on set, stating, “It’s not easy to continue onto a second season, but everyone from the production company to the channel, staff, and actors wanted a second season. The support from viewers has been a great strength.” She added, “Now, even in tiring situations, we continue filming with joy. I have realized how precious this environment is.”
Sung Jun raised expectations by saying, “I enjoyed the first season so much that I pondered a lot about the charm of the antagonist in season 2. Thanks to the seniors guiding me comfortably, the filming went smoothly.”
