Stray Kids has made history by debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 chart with their latest album, ‘HOP.’ This significant achievement places them ahead of top artists like Kendrick Lamar and Taylor Swift. Remarkably, this is the sixth consecutive album from Stray Kids to debut at number one. This record ties them with the globally renowned K-pop group BTS for the most number one albums in Billboard 200 history.
This historic feat is especially notable as Stray Kids becomes the first group to achieve six consecutive number ones since the Billboard 200 chart began in 1956. Previously, DMX held the record with five number one albums.
With this milestone, Stray Kids joins an elite list of groups, including BTS, Linkin Park, and Dave Matthews Band. These groups have celebrated multiple number one albums on the Billboard 200 since 2000. Their album ‘HOP’ features 12 tracks, primarily in Korean. It introduces an innovative genre format called ‘SKZHOP HIPTAPE,’ blending the group’s initials with hip-hop elements.
The eight talented members of Stray Kids have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to their fans. Their unwavering support has been essential in achieving this remarkable record. As they celebrate this achievement, Stray Kids is also embarking on their largest world tour, titled ‘DominATE.’ This tour includes 48 shows across 32 regions.
