Recently, Stray Kids have once again demonstrated their strong presence by dominating the Oricon weekly album chart with their Japanese second studio album, ‘GIANT’. The album secured first place on both the Oricon weekly album ranking and the weekly combined album ranking with 334,553 points and 341,285 points, respectively. This marks the fourth time Stray Kids have topped the Oricon weekly album chart this year, following their Japanese first studio album ‘THE SOUND’, their first EP ‘Social Path (feat. LiSA) / Super Bowl -Japanese ver.-‘, and mini-album ‘ๆจ-STAR’.
Their popularity in Japan didn’t stop there. They also took first place in Billboard Japan’s Hot Albums, Top Album Sales, and Artist 100 categories and topped Tower Records’ all-store comprehensive album weekly ranking. This new release swept the top of several charts on the day of its release and became the first Japanese album released by a K-pop artist this year to reach number one on the US iTunes Top Albums chart.
Stray Kids are continuing extensive promotions in Japan through collaborations with various brands. They are heating up the local atmosphere by partnering with Suntory, Osaka HEP FIVE, JR Tokai, and more. Additionally, at the ‘Stray Kids World Tour JAPAN’ concert held at the Tokyo Dome, they unveiled the performance of the title track ‘GIANT’ for the first time, thrilling fans.
Their global activities continue. Stray Kids have announced the second phase of their world tour, which includes 20 regions, including Latin America, North America, and Europe. This large-scale tour is scheduled to take place in major cities such as Mexico City, Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, London, and Paris.
Looking ahead, Stray Kids plan to continue their tour on November 23 in Manila and visit Asia, Latin America, North America, and Europe until July 2025. They also plan to release a new album, ‘SKZHOP HIPTAPE’, and the title track ‘Walkin On Water’ on December 13. The future endeavors of Stray Kids are highly anticipated.
