SEVENTEEN has once again proven their status as a global idol by receiving a commendation from the Los Angeles (LA) City Council in the United States. Pledis Entertainment announced on November 10 that SEVENTEEN member Joshua was invited to an event at LA City Hall on November 8, where he received the commendation.
This commendation is a special award given by the LA City Council to individuals and organizations that contribute to the arts, culture, and community. SEVENTEEN was recognized for their performances and the ‘The City Los Angeles’ project, which helped promote the city. Pledis Entertainment and HYBE America launched a special project from November 7, decorating downtown LA and landmarks with SEVENTEEN’s theme.
In his acceptance speech, Joshua expressed, “I am very grateful and honored to receive this commendation on behalf of the team,” and added, “SEVENTEEN and LA are similar in that they both have unlimited potential based on diversity.” He also mentioned, “I am proud to be able to showcase different parts of the city to our beloved fandom, Carats.”
SEVENTEEN’s receipt of this commendation signifies more than just an award; it demonstrates their expanding influence across borders. Expectations are high for what new challenges SEVENTEEN will take on the global stage in the future.
