Seattle-based rapper 28AV connects with hometown hitmaker Lil Mosey and buzzing local duo Souf Souf to release their summer smash, “Banana,” out today via H1GHR MUSIC. Directed by 28AV and OLEG KUD, the “Banana” video captures a wild pool party as the crew celebrates what is sure to be one of their biggest releases to date. Speaking with Complex about how the song came together, 28AV said, “If I told you how it happened you might not believe me, but it all happened on the love and we all came together from different parts of the city to show the world what that Seattle energy is about. Oh, and if you can’t tell from the video we had hella fun.” The track signifies a newfound unity within the city, bringing together Lil Mosey from the North,

Growing up as a Russian refugee in Seattle’s notorious Central District, 28AV has overcome his fair share of challenges in pursuit of a music career. From homelessness, teenage incarceration, and losing loved ones to gun violence, 28AV has been able to channel his toughest experiences into art. “I wanna show people that as long as there’s a glimpse of light in that window, you can grab that light and turn it into full-fledged enlightenment,” 28AV shared. In 2018, he signed to Jay Park’s H1GHR MUSIC where he released two well-received projects; Darko andTruly Unruly.
Best known for his standout verses on tracks like “WDFA” with Jay Park and Higher Brothers, and “Comrades” featuring Pressa, 28AV has showcased his unique cultural background in collaborations with artists from all around the world. Over the years he has shared the stage with hip-hop icons including Young Jeezy, Pusha T, and the late Nipsey Hussle, and has collaborated with Lil Wayne, Max B, and many more.
