At a press conference for the film ‘Three Days’, held at CGV I’Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, actor Park ShinYang shared his thoughts on returning to the big screen after a long hiatus. This work is in the occult horror genre, and Park ShinYang revealed the reasons and his feelings about appearing in a film after 11 years.
The film ‘Three Days’ is an occult horror story depicting the process of performing an exorcism to prevent a bizarre phenomenon that awakens in the heart of a dead daughter during her three-day funeral. Park ShinYang takes on the role of ‘SeungDo’, a father and doctor struggling to save his daughter, vividly portraying paternal love, wavering beliefs, and growing madness.
Recalling his first encounter with the script, Park ShinYang found it intriguing that “two stories coexist within one script.” He explained his decision to appear in the film, saying, “The blend of a human drama dealing with the tender emotions between a father and daughter and the occult genre was refreshing.” He also added that it was fascinating to actualize the script’s integration of these two narratives, which is rare.
Regarding his return to the screen after 11 years, he expressed that “film is unique in that it requires concentrated emotion within a limited time,” and conveyed his ongoing interest in the film genre. Having invested much time in drama and painting, Park ShinYang stated that appearing in this film was a new challenge and opportunity.
The film ‘Three Days’ is set to be released on November 14th. There is growing anticipation about what kind of impact and freshness Park ShinYang’s comeback film will bring to the audience.
