Omega Sapien, frontman of the alternative K-pop group Balming Tiger, releases the fisrt pre-release single “Serenade for Mrs.Jeon” of his first album [Garlic]. Omega Sapien’s solo song is released in about a year and three months after “POP THE TAG,” which received much attention with its music video.
Omega Sapien wanted to capture himself from the past to the present on his 1st album [Garlic] like a self-portrait. And through the three-minute track, he sings openly about his past days as a heretic, maladjusted for the order of social groups.
Bumjin, who is the producer of the single, created a hollow atmosphere so that Omega Sapien could bring out his unadorned story. And Shintaro Kago, a famous Japanese cartoonist, was in charge of cover art to portray the ego of Omega sapien. In the meantime, Baming Tiger’s music video has drawn worldwide attention, including being nominated for the “Berlin Music Video Awards.” The music video for “Serenade for Mrs.Jeon” was also produced by Jan’ Qui, a member of the team, visually directing the wave of the music.
Omega Sapien participated in Balming Tiger’s single “Kolo Kolo” earlier this year. In addition, he has played an active role in featuring tracks by various artists, playing the same role as garlic seasoning in Korean food. After Balming Tiger’s planned European tour and global festivals were canceled due to the COVID-19 incident, he showed live performances through famous global channels and media such as SXSW and Noisey.

“Serenade for Mrs.Jeon” will be released through all local and global DSPs at 6pm on September 8th (KST). The music video will be released on Balming Tiger’s official YouTube channel at the same time. Omega Sapien is scheduled to unveil another pre-release single, “Ah! Ego” on September 14th. And his debut album [Garlic], which includes those two songs, will be released on September 22.
