We hope you enjoyed part 1 of the K-Pop girl group lessons we've learned in 2022. And if that statement is true and you're ready for part 2 of the article, keep on reading! The way that the K-Pop girlies slayed in 2022 means that we automatically had to create a part 2 here at Kpopmap. We think we can all agree that there were just too many amazing songs released that it all would not fit in part one of this article. The hits kept on rolling in and shutting the K-Pop scene down leaving everyone gasping for air.

It’s actually insane the way that these groups kept creating hit songs back-to-back. All of the girlies slayed and didn’t take their foot off of the gas pedal all 2022 long. Each of the girl groups mentioned in both parts of this article achieved great things this year from awards to billboards. And they deserve everything they achieved. 2022 was stamped forever in our memories by each and every group that is being mentioned, and if you are ready to continue the celebration of them together, please read-on below!

BLACKPINK: Baddies With The Confidence To Match

BLACKPINK really served the attitude the fans all needed and wanted this year as they continuously shut down any opposers with their songs ‘Pink Venom' and ‘Shut Down’. We were all tasting that pink venom as the lyrics got stuck in our dome light woah, woah, woah! And we gasped at how fire their songs are like ah, ah, ah. The two songs provided catchy lyrics that had the whole K-Pop community singing and groovin’ along and even trying to learn the dance moves to the ‘Pink Venom’ Tik Tok dance challenge. This shows just how impactful these tracks really are.

Also, in both songs, the members talk about their confidence and what they have accomplished, and while it is good to be humble you should talk highly of and praise yourself. That’s why we wanted to include these two BLACKPINK songs because the fans and Kpopmap have learned from the members that it’s okay to hype up the hard work you have done and that it's important to give yourself love even when other people won’t.

(G)I-DLE: IDLE’s Comfortable In The Skin They Are In

“My beautiful self, my beautiful self. I'm born nude. And you're the pervert. Rude. Nude.” - Lyrics from (G)I-DLE’s ‘Nxde’.

(G)I-DLE’s ‘Nxde’ is a declaration of loving who you are and being comfortable without all the glitz and glamor with your bare, “nude” personality. (G)I-DLE's ‘Tomboy’ highlights that it is okay to have both feminine and masculine traits at the same time because you are beautiful either way. These two songs are the perfect pair. While ‘Nxde’ shows a more sensual and feminine side, ‘Tomboy’ with its masculine edge teaches the viewers that behaving one of the two ways, or one way more than the other way are both valued and charming. They created a space this year for women to be able to be themselves on all spectrums whether that is highlighting their own sexy or leaning into their rougher edgy side.

Ultimately (G)I-DLE taught us that it is okay to be who you are and that you can own and be proud of whoever you are and be true to yourself above what anybody else or society thinks. “It's neither man nor woman. Man nor woman. It's neither man nor woman. (Just me loving tomboy)”- Lyrics from (G)-IDLE’s ‘Tomboy’.

STAYC: Love Hurts

STAYC took us all on a track down memory lane because we have all given our heart to someone who we loved or had a deep crush on. ‘RUN2U’ illustrates having a friend who acts more like a frenemy who spews negativity about your special person. But, despite it all, you run towards the person you love ignoring all of the haters.

And their track ‘Beautiful Monster’ furthers the story of ‘RUN2U’ because it's at the point in the relationship where you already are deeply in love with someone and then they hurt you and you break up only to make up and feel lonely again because they're not the person you need. Your special one became… a beautiful monster that gives you love and pain. STAYC gave a message that love is not always beautiful, it hurts sometimes.

Billlie: Strange Is Beautiful

Billlie has proven time and time again that being strange, weird, or quirky is beautiful. And that you don’t have to be cookie cutter and perfect to have an alluring charm about yourself. In ‘GingaMingaYo’ the members talk about how they are searching for Billie (which continues with their concept) and that they might be Billie themselves and how people think they're weird and they start to question if it's really wrong to be that way. Eventually, they come to the conclusion that there is no one way.

They released ‘Patbingsu’ in collaboration with Yoon JongShin which is a retro styled track that is unique not only because of the choreography but the lyrics which are a Patbingsu recipe. As well as highlighting how, it is the best snack for the summer, how it tastes, and how they hope it doesn’t melt. Billlie’s unwavering spirit to continue to show off their own distinctiveness as a group is a lesson for us all to never hide or shy away from being proud of our specially tailored one-of-a-kind beauty.

ITZY: There Is More To Relationships Than Being Official

ITZY have shown that there is more to a relationship than being an official couple in both their ‘CHESHIRE’ and ‘Boys Like You’ tracks. They give the message in ‘CHESHIRE’ that it’s alright to just have fun with the person you like and that it doesn’t always have to be so serious, you can simply enjoy being around them. Also, the Cheshire Cat from “Alice In Wonderland” is the perfect inspiration for the lyrics because they are all about the members being mysterious, playing little tricks at times, and living in the moment (which are all character traits of the Cheshire Cat) with their special someone.

While ‘Boys Like You’ is an upbeat anthem about kicking a lying sneaky boy out of the way. The overall takeaway from this song is to not tolerate anybody disrespecting you in a relationship because you deserve better. ITZY taught fans to treat themselves like the ultimate prize and to cherish themselves always and forever.

At Kpopmap we think that we can all agree that K-Pop girl groups taught us some really valuable lessons this year that we can learn from for next year. All the groups mentioned in both part 1 and part 2 of this article have made an undeniable impact musically in 2022. They taught us about love, confidence, how to have fun, be fearless and so much more. And we hope you were able to connect with the messages and enjoyed listening to these A+++ tracks by each group.
