Rookie Korean actor Kim WonShik, who appeared last year in the drama “Alchemy of Souls“, is now taking a Filipino drama for his next project! “Pag-Ibig Na Kaya” or in English, “Is This Love”, is the first online mini-series being produced by Universal Records, one of the biggest and renowned record labels in the Philippines. The leads of the drama are Filipino actors Julie Ann San Jose and Rayver Cruz, while Kim WonShik is slated to be the second male lead of the show.

Kim WonShik, or Sam (his English name), is known for his roles in the Korean dramas “True Beauty” and “Alchemy of Souls”, as well as for appearing in the Korean variety show “I Can See Your Voice” as “Konkuk University Balladeer”.
Kim WonShik’s participation in the production of “Pag-Ibig Na Kaya” is the actor’s first to work with a Filipino production and act with Filipino stars. Also, the actor has been recently added into the list of managed artists by Universal Records Philippines’. With this said, fans may expect more activities in the Philippines from the actor as well.

The actor is said to be able to speak and understand the Filipino language as he stayed in the country for 6 and a half years, but he said that he felt pressure from the role, having the need to speak in English and Filipino. However, he also mentioned being invested in the role given to him in the Filipino drama, saying that he felt that the overall treatment is inspired by K-Dramas, which he is not a stranger from. Kim WonShik also attributes his growth as actor through the experience he had with this role.
