The drama ‘Love Next Door’ is receiving immense love from fans in Korea and around the world, continuing its momentum with a global pop-up store tour. Studio Dragon announced that this series, which has been on Netflix’s global TOP 10 TV (non-English) list for 11 consecutive weeks since its first broadcast in August, is gaining significant popularity overseas. The drama has captivated K-drama fans on Netflix with a total of 28 million views and 340.2 million viewing hours.
Building on this success, the ‘Love Next Door’ pop-up store will be held in four cities in Japan: Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka. This pop-up store, a collaboration between Studio Dragon and Japan’s IMX, is set to kick off in Fukuoka on November 21 and continue in Tower Records until February next year. This decision reflects the drama’s popularity in Japan, where it remained in Netflix’s TV TOP 10 for seven consecutive weeks during its airing period.
Previously, the pop-up store was successfully held in Seoul and Taipei, Taiwan. A representative from IMX stated, “The drama has garnered significant attention in Japan, and the decision to hold the pop-up store came in response to requests from local fans.” A representative from Tower Records also revealed, “The drama’s popularity is high in Japan, leading us to decide on hosting the pop-up store,” noting that many customers have requested Korean drama pop-up stores.
A Studio Dragon representative emphasized the significance of the event, stating, “We aim to expand the reach of K-drama through pop-up stores based on hit intellectual properties.” Studio Dragon has previously successfully conducted the ‘Queen Of Tears’ pop-up store in Seoul, four cities in Japan, and Manila, Philippines, with the Tokyo pop-up store currently holding an encore due to local fans’ requests.
We look forward to ‘Love Next Door’ continuing to offer various opportunities to connect with global fans. As the drama’s worldwide popularity persists, attention is drawn to what its next steps will look like.
