The final episode of the popular girl group audition program ‘I-Land 2’ on the cable music channel Mnet concluded with the confirmation of the debut members of the new 7-member girl group ‘Izna’. The members are Coco, Yun JiYoon, Bang JiMin, Choi JungEun, Yoo SaRang, Mai, and Jung SeBi.
During the ‘I-Land 2: Final Countdown’ broadcast on the night of the 4th, seven out of the twelve finalists were selected as the debut members. Particularly, ‘all-rounder’ Choi JungEun, who ranked first in fan voting, received immense love from viewers and proudly joined the debut team. Along with her, Yun JiYoon, Bang JiMin, Coco, and Yoo SaRang also achieved their dream of debuting through fan votes. Mai, with her exotic charm, was added to the team through the producer’s choice.
Izna was initially planned to debut as a 6-member group, but judge and mentor Taeyang announced during the broadcast that one more member would be added, making it a 7-member debut. The last member to join was Jung SeBi, who faced an emotional moment and shed tears. Jung SeBi expressed her gratitude, saying, “I’m very thankful to the producers and I-Mate. I will work sincerely as much as you have given me this good opportunity.”
Izna is preparing for their debut under the leadership of Teddy, the head of The Black Label, who is famous for being the producer of the girl group BLACKPINK. They are slated to release a new song within this year, raising fans’ expectations.
Notably, the project groups presented by Mnet’s parent company CJ ENM have had short contract durations of about two years. However, Izna, composed of their own trainees, has a seven-year exclusive contract, which is expected to allow for stable team operations.
