On the afternoon of July 10th, a press conference for SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Good Partner’ (written by Choi Yoo-na and directed by Kim GaRam) took place in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. Present at the event were director Kim GaRam, along with actors Jang NaRa, Nam JiHyun, Kim JunHan, and Pyo JiHoon.
‘Good Partner’ is a human legal office drama that explores the tumultuous relationship between star divorce attorney Cha Eun-kyung (played by Jang NaRa) and rookie lawyer Han Yu-ri (played by Nam JiHyun) who is dealing with her first divorce case. Kim JunHan plays Jung Woo-jin, a reliable junior attorney with a gentle leadership style, while Pyo JiHoon adds energy to the drama as optimistic lawyer Jeon Eun-ho, who believes in a ‘working love balance.’
During the event, Nam JiHyun remarked, “I hope viewers can feel the ‘woman-mance’ between the characters. Filming was very enjoyable. These two characters, who have very different personalities and standpoints, encounter each other. They show different perspectives on a single case, winning and losing as the story progresses. Initially, they clash, but later, they harmonize. I hope viewers watch this process closely.”
When asked if her thoughts on divorce had changed after working on the drama, Nam JiHyun responded, “I haven’t been married, so I don’t know well. Han Yu-ri, my character, is also far removed from divorce, similar to my real situation. There’s a line in the script that goes, ‘I thought it wouldn’t be different from breaking up a relationship, but it’s very different.’ Divorce is not an easy issue and often becomes a long, arduous battle. It’s not just a personal matter; it can involve many other factors. I believe viewers will feel many things.”
She added, “If I were to be in a situation where I needed to hire a lawyer, I would want to entrust my case to Cha Eun-kyung. She’s sharp and precise. Although consulting with her might be intimidating, she would be excellent at handling the case.”
Meanwhile, ‘Good Partner’ is set to premiere on July 12th at 10 PM KST.
