The spectacular stage of the 2024 MAMA Awards unfolded at the Kyocera Dome Osaka in Japan, where K-pop icon G-Dragon was awarded the ‘Music Visionary of the Year’. This newly established award is given to an artist who has made significant contributions to the K-pop industry through musical challenges and innovations.
In his acceptance speech, G-Dragon expressed, “It’s been a long time since I stood on the MAMA stage, since 2007,” adding, “It’s meaningful to be with MAMA for 17 long years.” He also thanked Yang HyunSeok, the YG Family, the newly joined Galaxy Corporation, The Black friends, and his fandom VIP. He reassured fans, “I won’t miss this award next year either.”
