Last week “Miami K-Pop Night” put on their second anniversary bash, the Miami Korean Music and Culture Festival. Part of this celebration featured several performances, most notably from KISU, a 2nd generation K-Pop idol formerly of the group 24K, who is now making music as a soloist. Others included local and international DJs and K-Pop cover dance crews.
The crowd had a lot of energy, especially after being hyped up by DJ sets like the one from DJ Yoo, also known as @Imyoonotyou on Instagram and TikTok. He regularly interacts with the listener community and knows how to mix and compose tracks to keep the party going and the crowds entertained.
Headliner KISU told us it was his first time in Miami, and that he was excited to be here. He is here as part of a nationwide tour performing at various events and Korean culture festivals like this one. He performed some songs from his solo career and included a medley of 24K hits for the fans who remember him being part of that group. His genre blends different styles, but he takes inspiration from ballads and other slow, beautiful tracks.
A highlight of the night was a track called ‘Cheeseburger’, which the crowd sang perfectly after KISU taught us the simple melody and lyrics. There was no shortage of crowd interaction and moments that fans will not soon forget. Between his unique tone of voice and charm, there is a lot to love. We could all tell he loves what he does and appreciates the support. He promised to return, and we will be eagerly awaiting that day to come, but until then, we will be listening to his music on repeat and reminiscing on a great night.
