Huening Kai's full name is Kai Kamal Huening, and his Korean name is Jung HaWon. He was born in Hawaii, USA, where he lived for a month before moving to China (he lived there for seven years) and then moved to South Korea when he was eight years old. His mother is Korean, and his father is American (German ethnicity, born in Brazil). Huening Kai's father - Nabil David Huening - was once active as a musician and actor. Huening Kai is Korean-American.
His Sisters Are Also K-Pop Idols
Huening Kai has two sisters in his family. Huening Kai's older sister, Lea Navvab Huening, is a former member of the K-Pop girl group VIVA.
Lea Navvab Huening is now a popular influencer (Instagram - @leanavvab), model, and soloist. She made her solo debut in November of 2022.
Huening Kai's younger sister Huening Bahiyyih has also debuted as a K-Pop idol and is a member of the project girl group Kep1er.
