Seongsu has been on everyone’s lips lately. From pop-up stores to K-Pop idols, Seongsu is a vibrant and colourful neighborhood located in the east part of Seoul that offers a wide variety of activities and immersive experiences, and most importantly food options.
Industrial spaces meet modern interior design to create highly aesthetic restaurants of all kinds to visit. From Korean cuisine to experimental dishes, Seongsu has a wide range of options that are ready to satisfy even the fussiest of eaters when travelling or living in South Korea.
A single article will not do justice to the amount of restaurants and cafes available in Seongsu. Thus, we have narrowed down the list to give you our top recommendations for this month. Follow along to get the full list of our top recommended restaurants and cafes not only in Seongsu, but also in Seoul.
Recommendation #1 – GuemGuem Korean Modern Cuisine (금금)
Located at 15 minutes walking distance from Seongsu station exit 3, this restaurant is the real definition of fusion Korean cuisine. GeumGeum uses daily Korean ingredients like perilla seeds, pork, sesame oil, asian radish and more to make dishes that use western techniques.
Their Korean Barely Noodles with Korean soybean paste are out of this world. Besides, their egg gimbap as a side dish is the perfect complement to share.
Prices are affordable, and as the restaurant does not have many seats we recommend you to arrive early for lunch to avoid lines.

Recommendation #2 – ONNURI Restaurant
For lovers of K-Food looking for an affordable, minimalist spot to try Korean homemade food, ONNURI is a must on your list. ONNURI captures the essence of Seongsu by blending the traditional Korean Baekban lunch with minimalist, contemporary interior design.
With a single menu of seven different sides, ONNURI’s offerings change daily, and each meal costs only 7,000 won.

Recommendation #3 – Ramura Chicken Ramen in Seongsu
If you’re craving a Korean twist on miso ramen, Ramura is the place to go. Their menu features four broth options inspired by staple ingredients in K-Food: soy sauce broth, chicken broth with soybean paste, chilli broth, and a no-broth option for a lighter experience.
We tried the chicken broth option, known as “White”, and the umami aftertaste is quite unique and filling.
With prices ranging from 12,000 to 20,000 won per person, Ramura is also ideal for solo diners, offering cozy bar-style seating that makes it easy to enjoy a meal on your own.

Recommendation #4 – Tenné in Seongsu
Tenné combines spacious charm with a menu full of brunch delights and fresh baked goods. While many Seongsu restaurants are small, Tenné offers a spacious, cozy atmosphere with plenty of seating, ideal for groups or intimate gatherings in the east side of Seoul.
At the counter you can find various savoury take away options as well as cakes, pies and other baked goods to share outside of the restaurant. In case you are looking for lunch options, Tenné at Seonsgu offers indoor or outdoor sitting arrangements that suit the needs of each visitor.
With prices ranging from 20,000 to 30,000 won per person, Tenné’s diverse menu has something to satisfy every taste.

Recommendation #5 – Elements Cafe in Seongsu
If you are looking for something sweet but with a slight touch of indie/hispter atmosphere, we recommend you to visit Elements cafe in Seongsu. Located 10 minutes away from Seongsu station, this cafe is a hidden gem that provides a peaceful retreat to Seongsu’s chaotic yet attractive atmosphere.
Coffee selection is very good, and desserts like their Lemon pie, or their Almond Cream Scone provides the right amount of sweetness to your visit to Seongsu.
