Viva La DIVA! The one and only K-Pop Diva, Ailee
Ailee is a South Korean-American singer and songwriter who was born on May 30, 1989. Before successfully making a debut on Feb 9, 2012, she was already performing and showing her talent as an artist. She started a band in 2006 and engaged in underground music activities while still in high school. She performed at university events and shared her own songs for free online. Before moving to Korea, she used her artist name “Ailee” in the YouTube videos that were posted in 2007. On the YouTube channel “mzamyx3”, which was probably the channel Ailee started, you can check her music performances from 15 years ago. Her incredible voice and talent quickly gathered a lot of views and attention.
Her voice was enough to mesmerize the people. After winning the ‘Song of the Month’ and ‘Rookie of the Month’ awards at the 2012 Cyworld Digital Music Awards in February, her first EP “invitation” was released in October of the same year. With her first mega-hit song ‘I will show you’, she won the ‘Best New Artist Award’ at the Seoul Music Awards, Melon Music Awards, Mnet Asian Music Awards, and Golden Disk Awards, as well as the ‘New Female Solo Artist Award’ at the Gaon Chart Music Awards with this EP. This is when the K-Pop Diva was born.
Follow the path of 10 years of her time
It has been 10 years since she debuted. “I can’t believe it’s already been 10 years,” Ailee said through her former management company THE L1VE on the 9th of September, celebrating her 10-year debut anniversary.
Ailee expressed her gratitude to the fans saying, “I had such special days because I had fans who have supported me for a very long time and have always believed in me. I always appreciate it and love you, my fans. I’ll make sure to be a better me all the time.”
Ailee is famous not only for her high-quality albums but also for her powerful and perfect live performances on stage and in concerts. She’s performed on countless stages and had 8 worldwide concerts in total. Distance between her global fans and Korea and COVID-19 interfered with her fans ability to experience Ailee’s fascinating performance. So, to interact with Aileeans (Ailee’s fandom name) all around the world, she is having an online XR concert called “Colors”.
Color the world of Ailee with your own hands
This online concert is to create a metaverse concert where Aileeans may interact with Ailee simultaneously. With a remarkable metaverse experience that incorporates the XR effect throughout the entire concert, Ailee and Aileeans will mark the path to the Music Universe. The Aileean Digital ID Card will be awarded to backers of the concert on Kickstarter – the card with 1,024 various representations of Ailee from the Multi Universe. Aileeans are on a quest to assist Ailee in recovering the faded colors of the universe’s destroyed land as a result of an environmental disaster. If all missions are successful, 12 different lights and colors would be shown for 12 XR stages. Additionally, Aileeans who have received the Digital ID Card can take part in the pre-production of the concert.
Only on Kickstarter, feel the energy of actually being at the concert
Everyone who pledges to the campaign will receive a free ticket to the concert stream. The XR (eXtended Reality) technology used in this performance produces a lively and diversified visual presentation that will make backers feel like they are physically watching the concert from a front-row seat. In addition, there are different types of rewards depending on the pledge amount. Find out what the special rewards are including a special making film video on Kickstarter now.
