Studio Dragon has solidified its position as a powerhouse in K-Drama production by dominating major categories at Asia’s two premier content awards, the Asian Academy Creative Awards(AACA) and the Asian Television Awards(ATA).
At the 2024 AACA held in Singapore on December 4, Studio Dragon claimed two major awards with “Queen of Tears” and “A Bloody Lucky Day”. The AACA, Asia’s largest content awards ceremony, annually reviews and honors the best in the region’s entertainment industry. “Queen of Tears” received the Best Direction awards, while “A Bloody Lucky Day” was recognized as the Best Original Production by a Streamer.
Earlier, on November 30, “Queen of Tears” also took home the Best Scriptwriting award at the 29th ATA in Jakarta, Indonesia. Established in 1996, the ATA is a prestigious media awards ceremony celebrating its 29th year.
With these accolades, “Queen of Tears” became the only Korean drama to win at both the ATA and AACA in 2024.
Studio Dragon continues to achieve remarkable success on the global stage. In 2023,“The Glory” won Best Drama Series and Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the AACA, while Island was honored with the Best Original Digital Drama Series award at the 28th ATA. In 2022, “Twenty Five Twenty One” won Best Drama Series, “Our Blues” secured Best Screenplay, and “Yumi’s Cells” took home Best Original Production by a Streamer at the AACA.
A Studio Dragon representative remarked, “It was a meaningful opportunity to reaffirm the global competitiveness of K-Dramas. We will continue to present high-quality productions that contribute to the global reach of K-Dramas.”

Internationally, it gained immense popularity through Netflix, recording 682.6 million viewing hours in the first half of the year, making it one of the most-watched K-Dramas of the period. “A Bloody Lucky Day” earned acclaim as a well-crafted genre piece and was invited to the “Virtual Production Technology” session of MIPTV 2024. It is streaming on CJ ENM’s OTT platform TVING, and is available on Paramount+ in markets outside of Korea, Japan and Taiwan, where Paramount Global Content Distribution distributes the series.
