BTS Jin has made his entry into the Billboard 200 chart with his solo album ‘Happy’, setting yet another record. According to Billboard, a renowned music media outlet in the United States, Jin’s first solo album ‘Happy’ debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200 chart dated November 30th. This is an astonishing achievement, especially considering it is his first album as a solo artist.
Billboard reported that ‘Happy’ recorded 66,000 album sales, 8,000 streaming-equivalent albums (SEA), and 3,000 track-equivalent albums (TEA). With this, BTS has become the only K-pop group to have both the group and individual members enter the top 5 of the Billboard 200 chart. Previously, BTS topped this chart with albums like ‘LOVE YOURSELF 轉 ‘Tear’’, ‘LOVE YOURSELF 結 ‘Answer’’, ‘MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA’, ‘MAP OF THE SOUL: 7’, ‘BE’, and ‘Proof’.
Jin’s album performance is comparable to the solo activities of other members, as BTS RM’s ‘mono.’, ‘Indigo’, and BTS Suga’s ‘D-2’, ‘D-DAY’, BTS j-hope’s ‘Hope World’, ‘Jack In The Box’ have also appeared on Billboard 200. BTS JiMin, BTS V, and BTS JungKook have also entered the upper ranks with their respective solo albums.
The title track ‘Running Wild’ from Jin’s solo album ‘Happy’ ranked 8th on Spotify’s ‘Daily Top Songs Global’ chart and 10th on the ‘Weekly Top Songs Global’ chart, also marking 25th on the UK’s Official Singles Chart. This has set a new personal best record for Jin’s solo songs.
