BTS JungKook’s solo album ‘GOLDEN’ is making new history on the world’s largest music streaming platform, Spotify. Released in November last year, JungKook’s first solo album ‘GOLDEN’ ranked 30th on Spotify’s latest ‘Weekly Top Albums Global’ chart from November 8 to 14. With this, ‘GOLDEN’ has achieved a milestone of remaining on the chart for 54 consecutive weeks, being the first and longest Asian solo artist to do so.
‘GOLDEN’ has never fallen out of the top 50 on the chart during the past 54 weeks, proving JungKook’s unwavering popularity and strong musical prowess. JungKook also achieved the feat of ranking two songs on the ‘Weekly Top Songs Global’ chart, with his solo single ‘Seven’ reaching 75th place and the title track ‘Standing Next to You’ from ‘GOLDEN’ reaching 196th place.
‘Seven’ and ‘Standing Next to You’ have maintained long-term popularity, staying on the chart for 70 and 53 weeks, respectively. Moreover, JungKook set a record by surpassing 2 billion streams with ‘Seven’, becoming the first Asian artist to join Spotify’s ‘2Billions Club’. Additionally, by achieving 1 billion streams with ‘Standing Next to You’, JungKook now has a total of three songs with over 1 billion streams as an Asian solo artist.
‘GOLDEN’ has surpassed 4.6 billion streams on Spotify, becoming the first album by an Asian solo artist to do so, and it is the first album by an Asian solo artist to have 10 tracks surpassing 100 million streams. These achievements by JungKook further prove that he is a powerful artist with a significant influence in the global music market, beyond being just an idol.
