The K-pop group NewJeans (MinJi, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, HyeIn) is trying to reassure fans amidst tensions with their agency ADOR over contract issues. NewJeans has sent a legal notice to ADOR, demanding the rectification of breaches in their exclusive contract.
On November 13, Hanni shared a warm message of support to fans through the fan communication platform Phoning. She especially encouraged fans preparing for the college entrance exam, saying, “Bunnies! There’s no need to be nervous. You’ll get good results as you’ve worked hard,” and she showed efforts to calm fans’ anxieties by saying, “Don’t worry about us.”
On the same day, Danielle also reassured fans on Phoning by saying, “You might have been surprised by the news, but it’s okay.” MinJi emphasized her trust in the fans by saying, “I believe our Bunnies will do well.”
On the 13th, NewJeans sent a notice to ADOR demanding the rectification of significant breaches in their exclusive contract. The notice was issued under the members’ real names, and it stated that if the demands were not met, they would terminate the contract. This legal notice stemmed from conflicts arising from the HYBE music industry report, which included controversial phrases along with the term ‘NewAr.’
ADOR has delayed releasing an official statement, claiming they have not yet received the notice. NewJeans is also demanding an official apology from the manager, the deletion of materials exposed without members’ consent, and the return of ADOR’s CEO.
The members of NewJeans are strongly urging Min Heejin’s return and expressed their desire to continue their musical vision and creative activities. Finally, they took a firm stance by stating, “We will respond decisively” regarding unfounded rumors involving their families.
As tensions between NewJeans and ADOR escalate, many are watching to see how the situation develops. Fans are particularly interested in whether NewJeans can return to their original ADOR and continue their music activities.
