TXT continues to achieve remarkable success on Japan’s Oricon chart. According to a November 12 article by Oricon, TXT’s (SooBin, YeonJun, BeomGyu, TaeHyun, HueningKai) mini-album 7th EP recorded sales of 293,000 copies in its first week of release, reaching No. 1 on the weekly album ranking (as of November 18). This is approximately 1.7 times the sales of their previous mini-album, ‘minisode 3: TOMORROW,’ which sold 174,250 copies, marking the highest weekly sales for a Korean album.
With this album, TXT has achieved their 11th consecutive No. 1 on the ‘weekly album ranking,’ breaking their own record for the most consecutive No. 1 albums by an overseas artist on the Oricon chart. Their streak of No. 1s on the Oricon chart began in 2020 with ‘The Dream Chapter: ETERNITY’ and has continued with each subsequent release. Notably, since the release of their mini-album ‘minisode 2: Thursday’s Child’ in July 2022, they have become the overseas artist with the most consecutive No. 1s on the Oricon chart.
The success of their latest release was anticipated early on. The Japanese single ‘CHIKAI,’ released in July, shipped over 750,000 copies in three months, earning a ‘Triple Platinum’ certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan. Additionally, from July to September, they held the ‘TOMORROW X TOGETHER WORLD TOUR ‘ACT : PROMISE’ IN JAPAN’ at Tokyo Dome, Kyocera Dome Osaka, Vantelin Dome Nagoya, and Fukuoka PayPay Dome, becoming the fastest Korean artist to conduct a four-dome tour in Japan. This was an opportunity to confirm the team’s strong fandom and audience mobilization power.
TXT is set to hold encore concerts in Japan at Kyocera Dome Osaka on November 30 and December 1, further solidifying their position in Japan and drawing attention to their future endeavors.
