On the popular KBS 2TV program ‘Immortal Songs 2’, a special stage unfolded on the 9th with the ‘Fantastic Duos Special’. This episode featured a format where trot legends paired up with prodigies to compete, showcasing a harmonious stage across generations.
Five teams of trot singers participated, including Shin Yu and Oh YuJin, Hong Ja and Lee SooYeon, Ahn SungHoon and Park SungOn, Shin Sung and Jung SeoJoo, and Son TaeJin and Im DoHyung, competing across two parts. In the first part, the prodigies showcased their talents and lit up the stage.
The first stage was opened by Jung SeoJoo, who is gaining attention as a ‘Trot Queen’, passionately singing Imija’s ‘Gireogi Father’. Following this, Oh YuJin sang Jung SooRa’s ‘Hwani’ to secure a victory. Im DoHyung, known as the ‘Child Adult’, brought big laughs with Choi JinHee’s ‘Heavenly Reunion’ and claimed another victory. Park SungOn, singing Joo HyunMi’s ‘Going Back to Memories’, defeated Im DoHyung.
The highlight of the first part was Lee SooYeon’s stage. Singing Jang MinHo’s ‘You Know My Name’, she deeply expressed her longing for her father, who passed away during her childhood. Although her emotions overflowed and she shed tears, she delivered a passionate performance that moved the audience and viewers. Thanks to her heartfelt and sincere stage, Lee SooYeon won the first part.
Moreover, Lee SooYeon recently began her official activities, releasing her debut album under her name. The album, consisting of double title tracks ‘NolaboSe’ and ‘HalMaeGukSi’, marks the signal for her new beginning. Anticipation is high for Lee SooYeon’s future endeavors.
