SEVENTEEN has once again demonstrated their global influence by receiving a commendation from the LA City Council at a special event held in Los Angeles, USA. The award was given in recognition of their contributions to art, culture, and community, with SEVENTEEN’s performances and ‘THE CITY PROJECT’ being highly praised for promoting the city.
The event, held on the 8th at LA City Hall, was attended by several city council members, including Chair Marquis Harris-Dawson. SEVENTEEN’s member Joshua accepted the commendation on behalf of the group, expressing his joy at being able to introduce SEVENTEEN to LA. He also highlighted the commonalities between SEVENTEEN and LA, emphasizing the infinite possibilities based on diversity.
LA City Council member Katy Yaroslavsky described SEVENTEEN as a “remarkable K-pop group that has captivated the world,” and praised them for being a cultural bridge connecting fans worldwide. She also commended SEVENTEEN for spreading messages of positivity and unity, as well as promoting diversity and inclusivity as UNESCO’s first youth goodwill ambassadors.
The ongoing ‘SEVENTEEN THE CITY LA’ kicked off with a launch party at ‘Club Academy LA,’ one of the top 10 clubs selected by the LA Tourism Board, and is announcing SEVENTEEN’s arrival in America through large digital billboard advertisements in the city. Additionally, a pop-up store offering exclusive merchandise and F&B collaborations provides fans with a special experience.
SEVENTEEN is scheduled to hold their world tour ‘RIGHT HERE’ at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles from the 9th to the 10th. Additionally, the iconic Ferris wheel at Santa Monica Pier will feature SEVENTEEN and the CARAT fandom’s logos, creating a memorable moment for fans.
