Global K-POP icon BTS V is set to release a special duet with legendary pop artist Bing Crosby. Big Hit Music announced, “The voices of V and Bing Crosby will be featured in ‘White Christmas (with V of BTS),’ which will be released simultaneously worldwide on December 6 at 2 PM (KST).”
Originally released in 1942, Bing Crosby’s ‘White Christmas’ is a classic carol that has been cherished for over 80 years. V has reinterpreted parts of this song with his own unique sensibility. Notably, this duet marks Bing Crosby’s first duet release in 47 years since his collaboration with David Bowie in 1977, making it highly significant.
The collaboration between Bing Crosby and V is a result of V’s long-standing admiration and respect for Bing Crosby. Bing Crosby, one of the greatest stars of the 20th century, is an acclaimed singer and actor who is inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame. V has consistently expressed his affection for Bing Crosby’s music, covering ‘It’s Been a Long, Long Time’ in 2022, to which Bing Crosby’s official channel praised, “V is set to become a remarkable jazz crooner.”
Last year, V solidified his capabilities as a solo artist with his first solo album ‘Layover’ and digital single ‘Friends.’ Currently serving as an active-duty soldier, his new musical color through this duet is eagerly anticipated as he is set to be discharged next June.
