Lee MinKi attended the production presentation of ‘Face Me’ held on November 6th at The Saint in Sindorim, Guro-gu, Seoul, where he expressed strong aspirations for the drama. ‘Face Me’ is a work that KBS is aiming for a turnaround success with Lee MinKi’s popularity and skills as the year-end awards ceremony approaches. Lee MinKi takes on the role of Cha JungWoo, a specialist in emergency medicine and plastic surgery, continuing his new challenge.
In this drama, Lee MinKi plays a specialist focused solely on cosmetic surgery to avoid others’ emotions, who then becomes involved in reconstructive surgery for crime victims. An unexpected collaboration with Han JiHyun, a detective in the violent crimes unit, unfolds, offering a fresh narrative that speculates the circumstances and causes of incidents, while boldly showcasing the world of surgery.
Lee MinKi revealed that in preparation for this role, he visited actual plastic surgery clinics to study surgical scenes and practiced hand movements related to surgery. In an interview, he mentioned, “The new story combining medical drama and crime investigation was intriguing,” and asked viewers to focus on the questions about happiness the drama raises. He particularly highlighted that episode 10, where Cha JungWoo begins to smile brightly, will be the climax of the drama, requesting much interest from viewers.
