NewJeans will be the first K-pop girl group to appear at Japan’s large-scale indoor festival, ‘Countdown Japan 24/25’. According to their agency, ADOR, NewJeans will participate in the event held at Tokyo’s Makuhari Messe from December 28 to 31, meeting the audience on the largest stage on the final day, the 31st.
Since 2003, ‘Countdown Japan’ has been Japan’s largest indoor music festival at the end of the year, attracting over 130,000 attendees last year. This year, top Japanese artists such as Creepy Nuts, Vaundy, Man with a Mission, and Stones are included in the lineup, raising high expectations.
NewJeans have already proven their immense popularity in Japan, having performed at the Summer Sonic stage last year. This year, with their official debut in Japan, they have achieved remarkable results, with their debut single ‘Supernatural’ released in June becoming a million-seller and topping major music charts.
Additionally, the track ‘Right Now’, despite being a Japanese single, maintained a high ranking on major domestic music charts, proving NewJeans’ power. They successfully held a fan meeting, ‘Bunnies Camp 2024’, at the Tokyo Dome in the shortest time as a foreign artist, drawing over 91,200 attendees. The Tokyo Dome performance received great acclaim from fans, sparking a NewJeans sensation.
Meanwhile, NewJeans is scheduled to appear on Nihon TV’s ‘With Music’ on November 9, and even more active engagements are anticipated in the future. NewJeans’ upcoming activities are drawing significant attention.
