The hot K-pop group Stray Kids has achieved another milestone. Their hit song ‘Back Door’ has received a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
According to the official RIAA website on June 13, 2023, Stray Kids earned this certification for ‘Back Door,’ the title track of their first repackage album ‘IN生,’ released on September 14, 2020. The song was written and composed by 3RACHA members Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han, and it features Stray Kids’ free-spirited and intense energy in both music and performance.
The RIAA grants certifications based on sales within the U.S., with gold awarded for over 500,000 units, platinum for over 1 million units, multi-platinum for over 2 million units, and diamond for over 10 million units. With this certification, Stray Kids now hold three gold-certified singles (‘神메뉴’, ‘MANIAC’, and ‘Back Door’) and two gold-certified albums (‘★★★★★ (5-STAR)’ and ‘Rockstar’) from the RIAA.
Additionally, on June 6, Stray Kids received a gold certification from the French National Syndicate of Phonographic Publishing (SNEP) for their ‘Rockstar’ album, marking their second gold certification from SNEP following their third full album ‘★★★★★ (5-STAR).’
This summer, Stray Kids will continue their successful streak. They are set to headline the ‘I-Days’ festival in Milan, Italy on July 12, ‘BST Hyde Park’ in London, UK on July 14, and ‘Lollapalooza Chicago’ in the U.S. on August 2.
