On the July 26 broadcast of SBS PowerFM’s ‘Cultwo Show,’ Sandara Park shared the heartwarming news of 2NE1’s reunion after eight long years, bringing tears to her eyes.
During the ‘Don’t Do It’ segment, hosts Brian and Sandara Park joined DJ Kim Tae-gyun, who excitedly announced, “2NE1 is making a comeback. This is the best news I’ve heard lately.” Sandara Park, clearly emotional, responded, “I’ve been waiting for this moment just as much. I’m so happy to finally share this with our fans, Blackjacks, after eight years.”
Observing her teary eyes, comedian Kwak Beom asked, “Are you holding back tears?” Sandara admitted, “I’m just overwhelmed by all the congratulations since the news broke.”
DJ Kim Tae-gyun comforted her, “You held back from sharing this news until it was official.” Sandara elaborated, “I wanted to wait until everything was set. It still feels like a dream. Practicing has been exhausting, so much so that I came here in my pajamas, but I’m happy.”
Excitingly, Sandara Park revealed, “We have a concert on October 5-6 at Seoul’s Olympic Hall. It’s incredibly meaningful as it’s the same venue where we held our first concert in 2011. We’re planning an extensive world tour, aiming to visit as many countries as possible, continuing into the first half of next year. We’ve decided to focus entirely on 2NE1, putting our solo activities on hold.”
She also shared a bittersweet farewell, saying, “I’ll be taking a break from ‘Cultwo Show’ to focus on 2NE1. It’s sad to leave my happy virus behind, but I hope to return as a guest someday.”
On July 25, YG Entertainment confirmed, “2NE1 will hold their ‘2024 2NE1 Concert in Seoul’ on October 5-6 at Olympic Hall.” This marks their first solo concert in nearly 10 years since ‘2014 2NE1 Concert in Seoul,’ and ticket sales have already ignited fervor among fans.
The concert, which celebrates their 15th anniversary, promises to deliver exceptional synergy with YG’s extensive experience in world tours and the members’ unwavering live performance skills. YG stated, “We were determined to hold these concerts within this monumental year, following the members’ wishes to start in Korea.”
2NE1 will kick off their tour in Seoul on October 5-6, expanding to Kobe and Tokyo in Japan, and eventually extending their global tour to reach as many fans as possible by next year. This highly anticipated reunion promises to be an unforgettable experience for fans worldwide.
