Jazz maestro Na Yoon-sun is set to hold a special concert in Seoul to commemorate her 30th debut anniversary. Scheduled for April 17th at the Lotte Concert Hall in Songpa District, this performance will showcase songs from Na Yoon-sun’s latest 12th studio album, “Elles,” released last month, along with some of her most iconic tracks over the years.
“Elles,” meaning ‘She’ in French, is an album that pays tribute to the female musicians who have influenced Na Yoon-sun’s musical career. The album received a warm reception across Europe, ranking 3rd on the French iTunes Album Chart and 8th on the Amazon Album Chart immediately after its release. It includes a total of 10 tracks, such as Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good,” and the recording was done in the United States with pianist John Cowherd.
Na Yoon-sun made her debut in the entertainment industry in 1994 as the lead actress in the musical “Subway Line 1,” and she made her mark as a jazz vocalist in Paris, France, in 2001. In 2019, she was awarded the French Order of Arts and Letters, and in 2022, she performed at the UNESCO-designated International Jazz Day event, marking her musical achievements as globally recognized.
For this Seoul concert, Na Yoon-sun will be joined by Serbian-born pianist Boyan Zhi. Boyan Zhi is an artist with a broad musical background, from Balkan folk music to blues and jazz, making his collaboration with Na Yoon-sun highly anticipated.
