Los Angeles-based multi-talented artist Juju B. Goode is gearing up for the release of his very first studio album, “Smile! You’re On Camera.” This collection, comprising 10 original tracks crafted entirely by Juju B. Goode himself, promises a fresh indie take on K-Pop, drawing from a rich tapestry of influences spanning Disco, K-Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop, and Reggae.
The album, which began its journey as a handful of demos in Juju’s NYC bedroom, underwent a transformative evolution upon his relocation to Los Angeles in 2021. Collaborating with producer/bassist Pablo Garcia-Quesada at Electric Dog Music in Hawthorne, CA, and producer Sherman Xu (known as Sake by the Water) from San Diego, Juju steered the project into a vibrant culmination. Over 1.5 years, these songs blossomed from lo-fi loops into intricate, dynamically arranged compositions with captivating beat changes and sophisticated musical structures.

Juju B. Goode’s poignant and relatable lyrics delve deep into the complexities of urban life, with Side A of the album chronicling the struggles of an ordinary individual in their mid-20s/30s (‘Mr. Lee’). Themes of burnout (‘1%’), screen fatigue (‘Ending Fairy’), and the pursuit of dreams (‘Blueprint’) color this sonic journey. On the flip side, Side B navigates the landscapes of heartbreak through tracks like ‘Cameo’, capturing the stages of grief (‘Witness’) and culminating in themes of acceptance (‘Lost in Translation’, ‘New Friend’) set against diverse urban backdrops.
