SEVENTEEN Makes History At "UNESCO Youth Forum" With A Message Of Hope And Solidarity

SEVENTEEN is set to attend the 13th edition of the UNESCO Youth Forum at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France, on November 14-15. Breaking new ground, SEVENTEEN, an iconic act known for their positive energy, will present a speech and performance at the historic main hall on November 14. This marks the first time a musical artist has been invited for a dedicated session at the forum.

The 60-minute session, part of the UNESCO Youth Forum, will see SEVENTEEN, as representatives of youth, spotlight the transformative impact of education and solidarity among young people in shaping a better future. The UNESCO Youth Forum, a global platform held every two years since 1999, provides a space for youth to dialogue and share ideas with Member States of UNESCO.

Ahead of this groundbreaking event, PLEDIS Entertainment, UNESCO, and the Korean National Commission for UNESCO (KNCU) have signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to globally expand their existing partnership. This collaboration stems from SEVENTEEN’s ongoing “#GoingTogether” campaign, initiated last year as advocates for education and youth initiatives.

SEVENTEEN’s commitment to the campaign has seen various projects unfold, including a donation campaign with fans on International Day of Education and allocating a portion of their world tour proceeds to provide educational aid for children in Malawi. The extended partnership is poised to amplify the impact of ‘#GoingTogether’ on a global scale.

Educational aid from UNESCO helped the Republic of Korea recover from the aftermath of war 70 years ago. An artist from that same country, speaking to youth around the world at UNESCO about hope achieved through solidarity and education, will be both a moment of historical significance and a momentous milestone for SEVENTEEN as an icon in K-Pop.
