JYP Entertainment, Republic Records, and Federal Films have made an exciting announcement today regarding the highly anticipated global K-Pop competition series, “A2K.” Set to premiere on July 13th, this groundbreaking show will be available for streaming on JYP Entertainment’s Official YouTube channel at 9PM ET / 6PM PT.
A2K, short for “America 2 Korea,” is a revolutionary program that documents the formation of the first American girl group trained within the K-Pop system. Auditions, hosted by JYP Entertainment and Republic Records, took place in five major U.S. cities: Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, and Dallas. Talented applicants from across the nation faced multiple stages of intense competition, aiming for the chance to perform in front of J.Y. Park, the esteemed Founder and Chairman of JYP Entertainment and a renowned Korean artist. Those who successfully passed the auditions received the coveted A2K Pendant, granting them access to the next phase: Boot Camp in Los Angeles.

Candidates are evaluated based on four crucial qualities that define the ultimate K-Pop star: dancing, singing, star quality, and character. Only those who prove their excellence in these areas earn the opportunity to train at the JYP Entertainment headquarters in Seoul, the birthplace of K-Pop. Here, they experience the exclusive JYP training regimen that has produced numerous globally acclaimed K-Pop groups such as TWICE, Stray Kids, ITZY, and NMIXX. The contestants undergo assessment by top JYP executives, including J.Y. Park himself, who will ultimately determine the final members of the debut global girl group. Amidst the journey, drama and spectacle unfold as the girls grow, learn, and transform into the future’s leading global stars.
For the first time in history, A2K incorporates the legendary K-Pop idol training model, formula, and discipline into a Western framework, seamlessly blending the core elements of music, fashion, talent, and fandom. Spearheaded by J.Y. Park and Republic Records Founder and Chief Executive Monte Lipman, the series promises an extraordinary fusion of cultures.
The all-girl supergroup formed through A2K will collaborate with both JYP Entertainment and Republic Records for all their future music releases, ensuring a powerful synergy between two industry powerhouses.
Stay tuned for more updates and announcements about A2K on their official website, and mark your calendars for the premiere of the first episode on the JYP Entertainment YouTube channel on July 13th. This is a show that K-Pop enthusiasts won’t want to miss.
