In this second part, the actor tells us about his hobbies, his travels overseas, his future drama, and more. He even recorded special messages for fans in English and Spanish.
About Won TaeMin, as a person (part 2)
As fans, we mostly get to know our favorite actors through their dramas and do not really have an idea of their daily activities. What is a day in the life of Won TaeMin like?
If I am not filming, I wake up and go straight to the gym. Because I love it. After the gym, I go to a coffee shop and read scripts or if I have an appointment with my friends then I meet them for a drink. Nothing particular.
Aside from the gym, do you have more hobbies?
Before I used to do swimming and basketball. I had to stop because of COVID-19. Since I like swimming now that it is almost the start of summer, I will start it again soon.
Fans often want to know the motivation that drives an actor. Is there a goal you’d like to achieve as an actor?
I don’t have yet a clear goal. But I want to become a reliable actor… A dependable actor who people will want to watch when I announce a new drama. I want to be an actor who works hard as well.
We know you like traveling. And we would like to know a bit more about your overseas travels. Have you ever been out of Korea? If yes, which country/city was your favorite? Tell us more about it.
I traveled to Europe by myself when I was a 2nd-year university student for around 35 days in the summer. I have been to Spain, France, the UK, Switzerland, and Italy. I felt I should go then or I will not have the possibility to do so later. I really love it. In Spain, I have been to Madrid, Barcelona, and Ibiza. The seaside and beach were so nice. In France, in Paris, I saw the Eiffel Tower lights change at midnight and I took a tour boat cruise on the Seine River. I enjoyed drinking wine there too. I wanted to go to Nice but couldn’t go because of the travel plans because I only spend 5-6 days in one country.
If you had to only choose ONE place of these to go again, where would it be? And where else do you want to go?
It is a difficult question because I really love it everywhere. But to answer your question, I would choose Switzerland. Back then, I loved going around busily. But now I am busy filming and after filming, I try to plan to rest. So I want to go again to Switzerland for healing, like watching beautiful landscapes and resting comfortably. That would be great.
I have never been to the US and I would like to go. But of course, there are so many places I would like to visit if I have time.
Have you been anywhere else?
I have been to Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, and one month to Australia (Melbourne) in middle school for something like an exchange program with a homestay.
If you travel overseas, you have to eat local food. Do you like non-Korean food? If yes, what food?
I am not a picky eater. I eat everything aside from coriander. When I went to South East Asia, I couldn’t eat it so I was going around with Papago asking them to remove it if possible.
For non-Korean food, I want to try Mexican food in local restaurants. Talking about this, the Paella I ate back then in Spain was very delicious.
If you have traveled in Korea before, where do you recommend your overseas fans to go? Why?
I would like to recommend Yeosu. I have been there before and the food is really tasty. There are a lot of things to do and the sea is pretty.
The actor is preparing for his new project and told us a bit about it.
We know you are filming currently “I, a Gangster, Became a High Schooler”. Are there any spoilers you can tell us?
I am playing the right hand of Lee SeoJin’s character in the drama. And when he passes away, I become the boss of the gang.
