CJ ENMย annouced that KCON, the worldwide known K-Culture festival, will finally be able to meet global fans in person as it will be hosting a new KCON kickoff event titled “KCON 2022 Premiere”. The event will be held in 3 locations: Seoul, Tokyo and Chicago. These will be the first offline event to be held since 2019. This wil also mark the 10th Year Anniversary of KCON’s first ever event in 2012 held in Irvine, California.

For this years event, fans can expect to witness an upgraded version of KCON, as it will be full of new context, reflecting the trends of Gen Z fans, and programs tailored for local fans. For fans who will not be able to come in person for the event, there is no need to worry as KCON will also prepare its signature digital content from “KCON:TACT”.

KCON is preparing a massive celebration that fans has experience in the past, with performances from biggest acts to group who are new to the KCON stage. The lineup and program will announced soon.
KCON’s kickoff event “KCON 2022 Premiere” will be hosted in Seoul (at the CJ ENM Center) on May 7-8, in Tokyo (at Makuhari Messe) on May 14-15, and in Chicago (at Rosemont Theatre) on May 20-21. After the kickoff event, “KCON LA” will be held in August 19-21, and “KCON JAPAN” is posed to take place in October.
Since 2012, KCON has been instrumental in spreading K-Culture, gathering 1.1 million fans across the globe. From 10,000 visitors during its first event in 2012, to 291K visitors in 2019, the incredible growth of the numbers of participants of KCON is evident. During the pandemic, KCON was not hindered by the event’s boundaries and through “KCON:TACT”, a virtual festival was held with more than 22.45 million K-Pop fans, enabling the worldwide audience to enjoy K-Culture anywhere, anytime.
