ITZY. Sounds like an interesting choice for a group name but what does it mean? Is it just random gibberish that JYP Entertainment founder Park JinYoung happened to choose?

No not exactly.

ITZY is actually a reference to the Korean phrase “있지”, which translates to “there is”. So what is so significant about the phrase “there is”? JYP Entertainment’s answer is that “there is” everything that fans hoped for in an idol group within ITZY.

“ITZY” can also mean “have it” or “got it”. Basically, ITZY “has it” or they “got it”, whatever fans want or need.
