In order to stand out in this competitive world of K-Pop, K-Pop groups often try out different concepts to seek breakthroughs in their music spectrum and impress fans with their versatile charms. One of the K-Pop groups that best defines the word “versatility” is CRAVITY. While the group first debuted with bright and cute concepts in 2020, they have been constantly showcasing fresh images by doing various concepts. CRAVITY’s exceptional versatility not only captured the hearts of LUVITY globally, but also brought them victory in “Road To Kingdom: Ace Of Ace” recently.

Check out the following 5 stages that prove CRAVITY is the “ace of ace” K-Pop group that can pull off any concept you can think of, from cute boy-next-door, chic office worker, to elegant ancient prince and more!

1. Fly

CRAVITY’s discography has been surrounding the core concept of “youth”, and one of the group’s b-side tracks that best represents this theme is ‘Fly’. CRAVITY performed this song live for the first time in their first world tour “Masterpiece” in Seoul. The members pretending that they are throwing paper airplanes while Allen doing the captain announcement at the beginning welcoming LUVITY on board the flight was so creative (he would change the announcement slightly and say it in different languages when they performed abroad!). The lively choreography radiated bright and youthful energy, and the members running to the extended stage with the flying gesture just made all LUVITY fall for their cute boyish charms.

2. Groovy (Christmas ver.)

While CRAVITY’s members have lovely and soft visuals, they also slay office worker concepts. CRAVITY performed a Christmas remix version of ‘Groovy’ in “2023 SBS GayoDaejeon”, and during the intro, the members presented a mature image by showcasing their natural acting as busy office workers. The members dancing on and around the table and TaeYoung throwing papers as the first chorus began were really visually captivating. Also, the newly added dance break before the second chorus showcased a classy feeling while at the same time retaining CRAVITY’s signature energetic image, and TaeYoung’s facial expression was so on-point. Not to mention that all of them looked like the finest young men on earth in suits!

3. Love or Die (Summer Special ver.)

CRAVITY made their first official attempt at the ancient Korean concept by performing an oriental version of ‘Love or Die’ in “2024 SBS GayoDaejeon Summer”. The members were dressed in glamorous hanbok and transformed into enchanting nine-tailed foxes. CRAVITY presented the nine-tailed fox concept beautifully with their powerful yet elegant dance. The new music arrangement incorporated traditional Korean musical instruments which were seldom used in the group’s previous discography, and it added an elegant touch to the song and brought out a graceful side of CRAVITY that they have never presented before. Many LUVITY commented that SeRim, MinHee and SeongMin looked gorgeous with long hair, and that they hoped to see CRAVITY making a full comeback with traditional oriental concepts. Are you also looking forward to it?

4. You Were Beautiful (DAY6)

Not only can CRAVITY sing and dance, they can even play musical instruments. Allen, JungMo and TaeYoung surprised LUVITY by forming a special trio band and covered DAY6’s ‘You Were Beautiful’ in CRAVITY’s first fan meeting “C-Express”. Allen played the keyboard, and JungMo and TaeYoung played the guitar and drum respectively. In fact JungMo was a guitarist of the school band when he was in high school, so many LUVITY were thrilled to see him playing the guitar again, saying that he looked so charming being a band member. Also, Allen showcased his soulful vocal in this performance despite being a rapper in the group, and his voice harmonized perfectly with TaeYoung’s powerful vocal and the soft voice of JungMo. The three of them literally look like the most popular school band that all students would go wild for!

5. HISTORIA

How could we forget the legendary performance that crowned CRAVITY as the champion in “Road to Kingdom: Ace of Ace”? CRAVITY performed a new track ‘HISTORIA’ in the final round of the competition, which is an epic track that declares the group’s ambition to overcome hardships and make history together. CRAVITY cleverly included various elements in the previous rounds such as the fake hand in ‘Sugar Rush Ride’ (first round) and the sword in ‘VENI VIDI VICI’ (evaluation round team battle). Moreover, CRAVITY’s previous performance all ended with the members looking at the ace, but this time everyone was looking forward, meaning that the ace of CRAVITY was LUVITY (how sweet is this!). All these heartfelt details made this performance a perfect final stage that concluded CRAVITY’s odyssey on the program.

Although TaeYoung missed the gemstone at 3:25, he covered it calmly by acting as if nothing went wrong, and many audiences didn’t notice the mistake until they read the comments, sayinging that they were impressed by his professionalism. This spectacular performance truly proves CRAVITY’s undeniable talent and stage presence as professional performers and solidified their label as “Performvity” (Performance + CRAVITY)!
