"The World Of My 17" is a popular web drama based on the popular webtoon "Odd Girl Out" by Morangg. Readers of the webtoon noticed that the adaptation has a lot of differences from the original webtoon.
The drama and the webtoon have the same basic storyline that is to tell the stories of friendship and growth of high school friends. However, there are major differences between the webtoon and the web drama.

1- Less on NaRi's growth
NaRi acted by OH MY GIRL's Arin thinks that she is an ugly duckling among white swans. NaRi succeeded in a difficult diet before entering high school. That is the same for the webtoon and web drama.

In the web drama, her hardship and growth are less highlighted. In the webtoon, when she was outcasted by her friends, she underwent bulimia but with courage, she got her place back to her friends by herself. However, in the web drama, YuNa solved the issue instead of portraying it as a growing episode for NaRi.
2- Less on friendship
The webtoon focuses mainly on the friendship of the four main girls: NaRi, YuNa (acted by Hwang BoReumByeol), SeonJi (FANATICS's DoAh), and MiRae (acted by Han ChaeKyung). However, the web drama does focus on their friendship but also mainly on love stories.

3- Omnipresence of Jung WooKyung
Jung WooKyung acted by Kwon HyunBin is very much present in the web drama but in the webtoon, he is not seen often. In the web drama, he is an idol but in the webtoon, he is a very famous actor and he is also not going to the same school as MiRae.

4- Change of MiRae's background story
MiRae in the drama is popular and is a trainee to become an idol. However, in the webtoon, she is a child actress that was the victim of evil editing.
In the webtoon, MiRae is a bit boyish and easygoing however in the web drama she gives the image of a bully. Readers of the webtoon can only be surprised to see MiRae liking to receive attention and being active on social media. In the webtoon, she does not like to receive the spotlight. All these make her characters very different.

In the webtoon, SeonJi is a kind but a bit dumb character. However, in the web drama, she only appears dumb when in the webtoon she is also someone that works hard and is good at helping friends.
