2024 has been an amazing year for aespa as they made their highly anticipated comeback with their first full-length album, “Armageddon”. The two title tracks from the album, ‘Supernova’ and ‘Armageddon’, completely swept the music charts and can still be found at the top of various streaming sites, breaking numerous records even months after its release. It’s safe to say that the craze for aespa couldn’t be higher this year, showcasing that the K-Pop community just can’t get enough of them.
The SM Entertainment girl group is currently on their “SYNK : PARALLEL LINE” live tour, meeting fans from various places like Japan, Australia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and many more. This allows crowds of MY (aespa’s official fandom) to hear the girl group live and in person. While they’ve established themselves as performance queens, they are also able to dominate in the vocal department too, mesmerizing millions with their incredible singing from intro to end.
Now, not everyone will have the opportunity to attend their concert, but luckily, there are many examples of their stunning live vocals floating around the web.
A ‘Savage’ Encore Performance
aespa have been making a statement since the beginning of their career, receiving multiple music show wins for their incredibly addictive title tracks. And after every win, they took to the stage to provide captivating encore performances. Despite still being considered rookies at this time, the girl group absolutely dominated their encore performance of ‘Savage’. They showcased their undeniable vocal prowess and also had fun while doing so. Even casual listeners couldn’t help but be impressed by the girl group’s overflowing vocal talent.
Stunning Showing Of ‘Hot Mess’
Although it has mainly featured Japanese artists, YouTube channel THE FIRST TAKE has brought on various K-Pop idol groups to showcase their live vocal abilities. The premise of the channel is simple: artists are brought into a room with microphones and are allowed to belt out a song of their choice. Most recently, aespa were invited onto THE FIRST TAKE for the second time this summer and once again mesmerized with their live vocals while singing ‘Hot Mess’. If you played both the recorded version and their THE FIRST TAKE performance at the same time, you surely wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.
Double Treat On it’s Live
Performances uploaded onto YouTube channel it’s Live is always such an amazing experience. It feels as if you see a different side of the artist as they put their vocal talents on full display. aespa makes this appearance special by performing two tracks: ‘Thirsty’ & ‘Spicy’. They start off with the mid-tempo ballad ‘Thirsty’, filled with emotional vocals that tug on your heartstrings. Shortly afterwards they kick it up a notch with ‘Spicy’ and bring the heat, making it a perfect live performance to revisit during the summer.
‘Supernova’ – The Song That Swept 2024
Ever since it was dropped as a pre-release, ‘Supernova’ remained at the top of everyone’s playlist, becoming the song that swept the summer charts of 2024. But if you thought it couldn’t get any better, you’ll certainly be blown away by their live performance of the track on THE FIRST TAKE. This live performance surpassed all expectations and had listeners grooving along in their seats, showing nods of respect to the SM girl group. What made this live so special was the fact that aespa added in bits of their individual color that could be visibly seen and so clearly heard all throughout the performance. There’s a reason why ‘Supernova’ still dominates music charts and aespa certainly show it here.
