Hallyu (the Korean wave) has become a global phenomenon in more ways than one. Not only have people from all over the world taken an interest in Korea, K-Pop, K-Drama, K-Beauty, etc. but the Korean entertainment industry is starting to reflect the global impact of its popularity, as well. It's no longer uncommon or rare to spot foreign actors in K-Dramas or spot non-Korean idols as members of K-Pop groups. For example, there are many Japanese, Taiwanese, and Thai K-Pop idols currently active in the industry at the moment.

Today, we'll take a look at 3 of the Russian celebrities who are active in the Korean entertainment industry - especially in K-Pop.

1. LANA

Lana debuted as a solo K-Pop singer in 2019 with the single 'TAKE THE WHEEL'. Throughout her career she took on numerous challenges including appearing on Chinese reality survival shows like "Produce Camp 2020" and "Bravo Youngsters!". Currently, she is based in Korea and signed to Wild Entertainment Group (home to artists like CLC's SeungYeon and Sorn).

 

2. X:IN's Nova

Nova is a rapper who debuted as a member of X:IN in 2023 with their digital single 'Keeping the Fire'. Many are looking forward to seeing what she shows the public through her idol career.

 

3. YuRi

Park YuRi is a model with an idol background. He is Korean-Russian and well known for his appearances as an idol trainee on the shows "Produce X 101" and "Extreme Debut: Wild Idol". He is also one half of the duo JxR and the K-Pop group SHAX (from the KBS drama "Imitation").
