As we move even deeper into the second half of the year, there has already been an influx of amazing BL dramas that have released in 2023. There are standout hits like "Unintentional Love Story", "Our Dating Sim", and "The Eighth Sense". Those three titles aside, the list is absolutely endless as every drama manages to cover various plots and storylines that make viewers' hearts skip multiple beats.
Soon, a brand new exciting web drama will join the list, called "Jun & Jun". It will feature rookie actors, Ki HyunWoo and Yang JunMo. The story revolves around an office romance between an idol who became an intern, Lee Jun (Yang JunMo), and his office manager, Choi Jun (Ki HyunWoo). The BL drama is set to drop on July 20th and can be viewed via Viki.
With "Jun & Jun" just around the corner, here are a few reasons why you should watch it!
1. Captivating Rookie Actors
If the teasers have shown anything, it's that Ki HyunWoo and Yang JunMo both possess a mesmerizing presence that draws you in. Due to being rookies, in behind the scenes footage, they hold a newfound innocence that tugs at your heartstrings. However, when in front of a camera, they are able to exude a certain charisma that keeps your eyes focused on the screen. With such talent right out of the gate, we cannot wait to see how they improve and grow as the series moves forward.
2. An Old Flame Rediscovered
In traditional K-Dramas and BL web series, there are certain tropes which exist across multiple genres. In "Jun & Jun", we see the trope of a past love rediscovered and explored. It will be interesting to track how they have changed since their last time together and what has remained the same. Although some might find it cliché, this trope brings a backstory and history between the main couple that can add layer upon layer of depth. With such a deep-rooted backstory, there's sure to be some tense friction on top of the heartwarming romance.
3. Passionate Office Romance
One of the highlights of "Jun & Jun" is the passionate office romance. As boss and employee, it will be interesting to watch as Choi Jun and Lee Jun navigate office life, all while pursuing their romantic interests. The teasers alone have shown heart-racing interactions all around, raising the hype for the web series to another level.
